Are you sure you want to give up that 1100 for a first year 1200?

That last year of the air cooled 1100 was perfectly sorted out.

Mike, have you tried the first generation Multi's?

The 1200 seems cramped to me by comparison.

I did take the bike out for a quick four mile supervised ride. The closest highway to the dealer is a toll road. Highway testing is not an option.

it's worth paying the toll before dropping big mon ...

Well that, and trying to explain to a prospective buyer that the bike is *really* an 1100 and not a 1000.
the title will say 1100, shouldn't be a squabble there!

I had an '04, I liked the Showa's...a little harsher ride, but I liked the feel.

You can always rebuild the Showa's to your liking.

Not really an issue.

you'll love it either way you go.

I don't think you are going to find much as far as maintenance issues go on an 1100, they were well sorted by the time Ducati updated the Multi design to the 1200. ...

I don't think you are going to have any problems finding those items for that bike. Great machine, go for it. You live in a wonderful riding area that is perfect for the Multistrada.
