Considering a '04 1000DS...HELP Posted: Wed Mar 30, 2011 10:28 am |
Seems like a fair asking price, with some wiggle room. These bikes are a little more care-intensive than your Wee, but then again, so is everything else OTOH, they're stone-simple, incred ... |

Greetings all high mileage Posted: Thu Mar 04, 2010 10:53 am |
I roll 8-10k per year, and don't really consider that "high mileage", even though my riding season is normally 8 months.
Always ridden like I stole it - zero problems at 52k. |

Anyone go from a Monster to Multi? (or have both?) Posted: Mon Aug 03, 2009 10:13 am |
Went from a M900 to the Multi.
Put over 20k on the Monster, including several longish trips (1500 miles +/-). Other than cramped legs, never had a problem, and to this day its stock seat remains ... |

Question about 2-up tripping Posted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 9:54 am |
There is a motorcycle-specific kidney belt made, but I can't remember what the trade is. The rider wears it, and it has big handles on it for the passenger............ google it? |

The missus & I do at least a week-long trip every year on mine... and push it pretty hard in the mountains dropping sportbikers (helps that I used to race ). As long as you can resist t ... |

Handling of the MS comparison Posted: Fri Feb 06, 2009 10:57 am |
I spent some seat time on a 1150GS, and while the telelever is butter smooth, it doesn't have the road feel of even my non-S Multistrada with Showa forks.
The Ohlins bits are sweet, but unless yo ... |

Multistrada vs. what? Posted: Thu Nov 06, 2008 11:21 am |
The Multi will run circles around either GS on oil (oldtimer slang for asphalt). Put a 14T countershaft sprocket on it for traffic duty. While the panniers leave nothing "uncomfortable" be ... |

Conundrum: Should I swap VFR750 for MTS??? Posted: Thu Oct 02, 2008 10:26 am |
My old VFR (a 93, pearl white, bought new) was very competent, polished, smooth, etc... very Honda-ish. But maintenance was a royal PITA, the riding position was not all that much different than the ... |

2 up touring, noob question. Posted: Thu Aug 09, 2007 11:10 am |
I'd second the backrest suggestion, and 'Habanero' on the board here makes a nice one. But other than that, the bike works great as is, two-up for a 120lb passenger. Might consider some earplugs or ... |

Monster or MTS? Posted: Wed May 30, 2007 10:53 am |
For mainly street twisties, ridden by a shorter fellow, who already owns a Sprint?
S2R1000 (Though the Multi could replace both bikes )
Ohlins for the street is overrated; take the premium ... |

pillion comfort Posted: Thu May 24, 2007 11:24 am |
Just returned from a 2000 mile trip, and the only complaint my wife had about the seat (stock 05), was that a backrest would be nice. There is a list member (Habanero?) that makes a tidy one for the ... |

See if you can ride a used 04-06 model.
The changes to 07 didn't change the character of the bike (I personally like the signature Ducati dry clutch chatter) enough to make it much more desirable ... |

I don't think either of them are a bad choice. The Multi is significantly lighter than the Tiger, and has proven it can take a pounding quite well (somewhere in the photo gallery is a pic of one not l ... |
