BlueBudda, I have a 04 Mutistrada as well. I've had a few problems that you mentioned. The brakes are the biggest issue with mine.
My speedo/tach assy was changed under warranty, no further problems ...

The larger screen is $105. Not sure if I want one or not. The stock screen flows pretty nice, the lrge screen may pollute the air at helmet level. i've found the stock one is ok below 70mph or so.
