Hi,
I am planning on buying a Multistrada, but I doubt about whether to go for the new 1100 or choose the 1000.
I found a 1000S DS '06 with 30000 kilometers at 8000€ ($12,600)
Do you think that "mileage" is "too high" ? Should I look for another with less kilometers?
Price of the 1100S DS (new) is around 12600€ (19,800$)
I will appreciate your wise comments on this
Thanks

I won't buy new bikes or cars, the depreciation is far too much, but I don't keep things for more than a year usually.. I was told to get the 1100 if I could find one at the right money as it is, quote, "a better bike" so i bought a use 1100.
Regarding, 8k on an 06 bike, that is far from excessive.. If you do a decent tour of Europe you can do 2k easily in one go.... |

30,000 kms for that sort of cost seems way high to me.
The 'S' is a worthwhile upgrade over a non-S, but I wouldn't pay that much for one with that sort of time on it.

Yep, that would be a high price for a bike with 30,000km on in the UK. The best thing about the 1100 is the working fuel gauge! |

My mistake, you did put 30k, I read the 8k price as miles.. I agree with others, 30k on a bike that is less than 2 years at that price is too much.. |

Thanks for your comments
I am even more doubtful than I was before, to be honest. I thought it was a fairly good deal.
Check it out: http://motos.coches.net/ocasion/modelo.c...da%201000SDS%20
By the way; forgot to say that the bike is at 7500€ (spoke to the seller last night). Fuel gauge has always worked right, he also says.

Looks nice, but they always do... I would expect to pay 5k pounds(7500 E) for an 06 1000 with 'normal miles here in the UK. |

"Normal miles" means, around 15.000 - 20.000 kms, right ??

I think normal for a fun bike like the MTS rather than a workhorse bike is more like 3-5k miles a year?? I could be wrong!! |

5k miles,... That´s 8000 kilom.= 16.000km in two years. Yeah, sounds more reasonable, but I haven´t seen any Multi S like that for sale on the Net..... (Yet)
I´ll keep looking or waiting
Thanks |

Just keep looking.
Look for a used bike with less miles, or look for a new bike that costs less... |
