Hi guys, just a quick one, my old failthful GSXR has just packed in and I am fed up with it so I have been smitten at the thought of owning an MTS.

Now the question, I need a real world assesment of reliability, I do between 280 and 350 miles a week in all weathers weekend commuting and fun riding so i could do with a reliable bike that can chew the miles on M-way and also be fun round the back roads, which it looks like the MTS fits, the only nag in my mind is how the Duc will cope with that sort of regular milage.

Oh I am looking at an 03 model with 8000 miles on it, and I intend to service it myself except for the belts which i will get done locally.

any comments welcome

Out of all the Ducati motors, the air cooled ones are the most reliable. Look at Jantah's 'ton up' thread', he's done 60,000 miles on his. Give everything a good covering of ACF-50 and you'll be laughing.

No problem akey, you'll find there's a lot a great people on this site and tons of info!

Just be aware that this bike is a big change from a Gixxer - but IMO one of the best street bikes ever made.

Cheers matey, if I do buy it I am hoping it will be good for the M-Way weekly commute but good enough for some fun around the twisties and everyone I have ever spoken to seem to agree that the multi is well suited to both of these tasks, no doubt it will have me smiling all the way round the cat'n'fiddle.
