A nearby dealer has a new 2008 S for sale. List of course is $14.5k and they would like me to pay that Some web research shows that a used, clean 2008 is worth $10,310 (which would also be all that my insurance company would pay me if my brand new 2008 got stolen). The fact that it is new is certainly worth a premium, but how much of one. I have made an offer of $11k but expect a counter offer. What seems reasonable when buying a 3 model year old bike?
Thanks for any opinions. |

$12500 Should buy it ......that would be just over cost and get rid of stock that they need to sell ... as in turn over some dollars..
12500 for a New Ducati full warrenty is I think a good deal IMO

I bought my new 08 1100s this past November and paid 10,500. Of course added Termi, etc etc, and found my way back up in a hurry! |

Counter from the dealer was another $1500 putting it at $12.5k
Keener, you should work for a dealership.
Not sure that I want to buy something that will depreciate $2200 the moment I buy it.
I'll try to find a used model that I can buy for its actual worth while the dealer thinks about my proposal.
Thanks, |

Contact the guy who has a 2008 1100S for sale in CT. He was asking $8900 for a low mileage bike with all the bags and some other extras....what a screaming deal...and with 18 months of waranty left. Look in the Forums for his contact info. I'd snap this up myself except for the fact that I'm totally over my head in the rebuild of my 1000DS. Best of luck!
