Don't know what you decided, but I was at the track this summer with 2 guys that had Cagiva GCs and one of the guys had a MTS too. They did a fair amount of DS stuff and actually preferred the GCs because of that. The guy with the GC and MTS actually dumped his MTS 1 week before the track day when he tried it out on some trails they knew well. He cracked an oil line down low and was waiting for repairs. They had never had an oil leak after a drop of the GCs.

I too had to negotiate (as I'm sure many others had to do) but unfortunately did not get the Ferarri. I have owned/tested many bikes and, because of my dirt bike riding experience (upright position) it fit my style and I now have an '04 MTS. I love the bike even though it doesn't meet others expectations (fuel range, seat comfort). I was not looking for a touring bike, however it could be adapted if I ever choose to do long range touring. I recommend the bike to anyone who needs an all around bike that can do it all. Reinforcement for the passion.
