Is $10,193 OTD a good/fair price in Orange County for a bone stock red MTS 620 with no accessories/extended warranty, etc.?

This price quote was from Brea Ducati.

Thanks Richard

I paid list price plus $300 setup and TTL for the first red 620 in Texas. Not as good as Titan's deal, but still way better than $10K.

Let see, if you fly and ride, you'll have to stop and have the 600m service on the way.

Looks like pricing went up for all 2006 Multi's (except for the 1000). That price doesn't sound like he is giving you a discount at all. The MTS 620 lists for $8495. Add 8.25% for sales tax (it might be higher in Orange cty), that's $9195.84. So he is charging you $997.16 for dealer prep and title?????

Get quotes from different dealers and shop this guy. See how bad he wants your business.

Then after you buy...check out the Multi DOC and join us for some rides. www.multistradadoc.com.

Bike IS sold, thank you one and all. This site works great. T.T.

Hi,
I have a red 620 I purchased new on 10/28/05 which now has 860 miles on it.
It's had the 600 mile service performed by the dealer and the bike is stock, and never been down. I'm nuts about the bike, but because of unforseen business related expenses I have to sell the bike. My loss, your gain. $7500.00/OBO. I live in Central California north of Santa Barbara. Appears you are in Orange County? You also save on the DMV as there will only be a transfer and less sales tax. First 7500.00/OBO gets a red 620.
T.T.
Can be reached at 10530@impulse.net or 1 805 736-8677, ask for Tom.
Paid $10,400.00 OTD for the 620.

Thanx for all the info guys. I got the same quote from Spectrum Ducati in Irvine. Brea Ducati said they would most likely discount the total price once they know I'm serious about the purchase. I can't understand why anyone would pay full MRSP of $8,495. It doesn't work that way on auto purchases... and I can't get any data on dealer invoice, etc.

No. That does not sound like a good price. You can do better than that. Try GP in San Diego. I got a good deal on my 1000 S there.

That's about what I paid for a new 2006 a couple of months ago here in Canada....I had considered shopping south of the border because even with import duties and exchange rates it was a better deal in Washington than here in BC...but customs is an absolute nightmare. (And I was impatient! Very Happy ) It doesn't sound like that that dealer is doing you any favours.

Speaking of all these OTD prices, generally, can you bargain much with a Ducati dealership? In my neck of the woods, there are two dealerships within a few hundred miles and that's about it. In addition, they only have a few Duc bikes at these places anyway - I would think the advantage would fall on their side.

The one place by me has the MS 620 at $7495 and the other place has it at $7995 (both are the standard red 620s). The former appears to be a good price for the bike. I may try to get them to throw in some extras, but I doubt I'll have the ability.

When I bought my 03 1000DS, the bike was hot and from what I got on this board the price was not negotiable. I did get 0 percent financing because I bought an 03 vs. and 04, so that's gotta be worth $700 or so without doing a lot of math. It's my impression the 1000DS is not selling well in the states, as the "S" model is so much more appealing. I think there are some pretty good deals on the 1000DS. I don't know if importing from other states is cool or not where you live; it really can't be done here in CA (must have 7,500 miles on it?). I don't know anything about the negotiability of the 620s.

It seems the ST3 touring Ducati might be a little soft, also. Perhaps some of the Monster models are a little weak. Perhaps surfing a few Ducati websites will give you a better feel of what's hot and what's not. Also, aren't some Ducatis eligible for a 2 year maintenance free program? That would be sweet.

Just my 2 cents,

Tom

My OTD price for a bone stock red MTS 620 was $8322 here in VA in November of last year.

The MSRP is $8495 for a red/yellow one at MotoEuropa in Richmond. Yellow is not produced anymore and they have two of them.

The dealer invoice for these bike is about $7299.

I paid 7725 out the door last week in Denver for a Yellow 2006 620. I got it for just about 2 hundred over invoice + tax/reg. It had been on the floor a while so they were anxious to move it.

I hope you find what you are looking for at a good price.
