It must be sweet. I'd like to hear more about it before I plunge! |

I had a regular Multi. (04 model) used for 6,000 Miles (10,000 KM.)
I liked it a lot.
Then came a couple of "S" models to the dealership, One Black, One Red, traded it in for the Red one and a friend of mine traded his, for the Black one.
After the first ride (180 Miles) we could not believe the difference.
It is a fantastic bike which I would highly recommend to anyone
looking for a bike that will keep you smiling !
The handling on rough pavement is now smooth and precise, just
imagine how good it is on new tarmac.
Go for the "S" it is the one ! |

I bought the 'S'. The suspension is so plush on bumpy roads and even freeways that I felt it was worth the extra just for that.
You also get some carbon fibre bits that are expensive, look better and really don't anything the plasic can't. The handlebar looks nicer and is supposed to cut down on vibration.
I have heard the non 'S' 2005 bikes are not coming through with the new stand, but I don't know if that is true, if it was just the early bikes or just a rumor.
I thought about it a week before I decieded just to spend the extra cash. I was already spending way more than I was even considering...but I han't bought a new bike since the 70's! ( usually say the Carter era, but with the multinational group here it might not work- still think he was the best president we have had).

I rode the S this weekend and compared it to my own 2003 model.
The suspension is really plush but since the seat is softer I had a hard time telling which made the biggest difference. I like the old seat better for active driving, you feel the traction better. I would like the Ohlins with the old seat.
The handlebar was OK but I prefer my Rizoma handlebars since they are a bit narrower and keeps your elbows in a bit more.
My impression was that the bike was a bit softer and wobblier than mine but I think it had to do with the wider handlebar and softer seat.
Great bike but not worth to trade my 2003 in my opinion. I will probably get the rear Ohlins and spend more on improving ground clearance, engine performance and stickier tires. By the way, I got the new sidestand on warranty. |
