Hey Stradistis,

Wanted to ask you opinion about something.
I started riding about a year ago and got a Monster 796 for my first bike.
Owned it for about 8 months. Loads of fun! Sold it, can't believe how much I miss it though.
Anyway, time to buy my next bike but...
What to buy?
I test rode the 1200S and agree with what all y'all say about it.
Much more power than the aircooled monter, but still very manageable, and FUN!
Problem is, my brain is telling his brain this:
"If you get the MTS1200, you won't enjoy it as much as someone who bought it after owning say a Bimmer GS or RT."
I'm thinking... get a used GS, ride it for a couple years, then sell it and buy a MTS1200S.
Is it that crazy an idea?

you just adapted quickly Laughing

on a more serious note, I find it hard to follow your thincking. The change from the monster to the multi is bigger than from the GS.

But why would you spend some years on the GS if all you really want is a Ducati?

I moved from a Monster 620 to a Monster 696 to my MTS1200S.

The assumption that there needs to be an intermediate, inferior bike as some sort of transition between a Monster and a Multi makes no sense to me.
