If it's just a question of chain lubing you could consider fitting an automatic system such as the Scottoiler.

I found used center stand,.. it was from MTS-1100 but look's MTS-620
center stand.

My problem is at moment that exhaust pipeing is against center stand spring?
Question is should the spring lay against pipe or horizontal rod of center stand
against struture done to pipeing??

Good reason is that side stand mounting point breaks at motor, at Finland
to repair cost 4500eur!!!!

I thought that there was a rubber bumper on the bracket tab on the exhaust. Is there a hole in the tab for a bumper to attach to? If so, you need the bumper.

Hi Pekka,

Good luck for locating the centerstand assembly from the MTS 1000. They ARE hard to find.

I see two things wrong in the picture you posted.

1.) As mentioned it appears that the rubber bumper stop that contacts the centerstand stop on the exhaust seems to be missing. You could easily make a substitute from hardware store or even auto store rubber bumpers or seals. This just prevents metal to metal contact and banging noises but is a low tech part.

2.) The spring IS not in the correct location. I have a centerstand from the MTS 1000 on my 06 620, which has stock exhaust pipes, like yours appear to have. The double spring should be located on the outboard side of the right centerstand leg. There should be an anchor point on the outside of the right leg for the spring and the other end attaches to a spring post on the right cast centerstand mounting bracket, about 2 inches away and at the "7:30" position relative to the rear brake pivot. I don't see the spring mount on the outside of the centerstand right leg in the picture. I also had a MTS 620 stand, and except for being about an inch shorter (on the "legs", below the cross brace on the stand weldment), they were EXACTLY the same, with the spring mounted on the right side.

Note that I had to put the stand weldment from the MTS1000 on my 620 as the stock wasn't long enough to clear the rear wheel with the Showa suspension from a DS 1000 added. With stock suspension on the 620 and stock ride height, you need to make sure that the stand from the 1000 isn't so tall to prevent the stand from locking "over center" properly.

Good luck with your repairs but DO check out the spring mounting because based on the two centerstands that I had, your spring IS in the wrong spot.

Thanks

Rod

Any more news on the center stand? I've been looking everywhere for one. I called several dealers in the Southeastern USA and no one has one and mother Ducati does not have any for sale and shes not planning to get any more.

I am aware that in the automotive industry the automobile manufacturers are compelled by federal law to keep parts available for ten years after production ends. I wonder if that law applies to motorcycle manufacturers.

SW-Motech makes center stands for many bike companies but not the Multi strada. If someone knows anyone in SW-Motech's upper management and perhaps they could mention they could sell a pretty good run of stands it might happen. I'd certainly pick one up.

I would imagine there are plenty of people out there who would do likewise.

Seeing this is your first post you have used it to re-cover a topic most air-cool owners have had.

Your best bet if you want a center stand is to search eBay and put an "alert" so you get notified first and act quick - cause they do not last long.

Keeping a keen eye here may work to, but the last one posted here and eBay ended in an ugly online fight worthy of King Solomon.

Rubber-Side-Up is another place that occasionally get a wreck and part them out.

The only thing I know from watching the demand is that you act quick when you see one!

Good Luck!

Finally had a nice enough day to put the center stand on the Duc

Even managed to get the center stand on the bike without taking off the double spring Very Happy

Works like a charm - the pivot point makes for an effortless hoist. Now can lube the chain with ease!

And again after the last centre stand project failure I have another go in creating mounting brackets for the stand.

as this is a new design and not a duplicate of the original I decided to create a stand which can be used with after market de cat pipes. as we all know Ducati stand is using catalytic converter to rest on when not used. so every one who have de cat pipes can't fit the the stand. Mad

I took my idea form 1200 model where whole construction of the locking stand in the position is a bit easer. instead copying all funny shapes and angles from the O&M stand I've done it all on a flat piece of metal.

in this position stand is used

This are the ends of the stand which will be welded on.

in this position stand is not used

not sure if all this is make sense to you guys but hopefully it will when I put it all on the bike soon

Cheers Greg

Hey Gregski,

Looks like you are really close on your mounting brackets as they look very similar to the OEM cast brackets, which with all the curves they have, would be by far the trickiest part to fabricate. Might want to put a spring anchor stud on the outside of the right one so that the spring is set up similar to the one in Ocean's picture your before your post. Looks very promising.

Could you take photo and supply it gallery?

My Center stand is taken from MTS-1100 but I feel it's
orginaly for MTS-620. Photos at Internet form orginal
part has pin as I have but to get it work it should be somewhere else.

If I have rubber bumper installed center stand is touching ground
while driveing, I found emergency fix to get bike on road but
re-engineering needed to get proper solution, your suggestion
from new attachemnt points sounds good.

more hard porn photos's:http://www.multistrada.net/index.php?page=3&smartor_mode=album_personal&user_id=10052

I have 4GB photos but multistrada.net request to resize them realy small,...

Thank you for your advice, sofar, it has sence!
