I have sourced a 2007 Multi 1100S with 25,500 miles and am looking at it this weekend.
My questions: what ballpark price should I expect to pay and what should I look out for in regards to neglect and abuse of the machine?

This will be my first Duke coming from an RC51, my girl and I have moved to SoCal so thought it would be a great PCH and desert ride.
Thanks for any help and advice

Just a couple of months ago I paid $8500 for a 2008 with 4400 miles on it. Full Termi system too. That was a good deal I think.

That is a good deal, especially with the low miles and Termi. Wish I could find the same deal! I just missed out on an '09 1100S with 7,300 miles, no extras, for $7,000. Sad

Thanks for the responses
The guy wants $4500 for the bike but I have not been able to see or ride the bike in person yet. Just the fact that the bike is so cheap makes me a little cautious but at this price I can't really go wrong?!

The low price is probably due to the higher mileage. The 2v motors are pretty tough, so if it has been taken care of I wouldn't worry about that too much. Multistradas don't typically take the harder miles that some superbikes do (revved and pushed).

I've found an '07 1100S with 11,300 miles for $7,100, so the price you were given doesn't set off any alarm bells with me. As you said, for that price you can't really go wrong. The 2v Multi's aren't selling well (probably due to the 1200), so you may be able to talk the owner down a little more. Just look the tank over for swelling.

I bought my '07 1100S with 1986 kms on the clock for $10,500. Full arrow exhaust/ECU, heated grips, hand guards, ZG screen, Pazzo levers, DP top box, center stand, etc. I think I got a great deal. It was basically a new bike, not even fully broken in, not a scratch. Things up here in Canada are booming (oil & gas, natural resources, real estate) and people aren't desperate to dump luxuries like a Ducati. Probably could have done better in the US, but didn't want the crossborder hassles.

That price is alittle low so it comes down to seeing the bike and making sure it has a clear title, not salvage. If it's not in good shape you can run-up a big bill pretty quick in repairs. Ducati parts and repairs are not the cheapest, so being cautious is a good thing

Just take it to a Ducati dealer and have them check it out for you. $100? If they find something, you might be able to use it to get a lower price. Things are pretty slow this time of year...

Also, FYI, a Ducati is a Duc, a Duke is a KTM.
