Hey guys... New to the forum. I used to own a 2013 Monster 796 which I loved. But I am now living in Colombia and looking for something that is a bit more practical, affordable and tourable.
One option is a 2007 MTS 1000 ds listed for sale here. However, all of my research seems to indicate that the 1000 MTS was discontinued in 2007 and replaced by the 1100 MTS in 2007.
The bodywork says 1000 DS .... Is it possible that some 1000 MTS were still produced in 2007? If this is the case, is it possible that they still have the Showa suspension? Or is it possible that some early 2007 1100 MTS had 1000 DS labelling on the bodywork?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
R |

I have never heard of a factory made 1000DS for model year 2007 in the US, but who knows for other markets. It is also possible that the bike was crashed and the owner simply got a good deal on 1000DS parts. The only difference in the bodywork is the labeling/stickers. |

It's unlikely to have been made in 2007 but possibly an earlier one not registered till 2007. Quite a few bikes particularly coming to an end of run have stayed at a dealers for longer than expected,
If it is for sale in here then why not ask the seller? |
