I'm considering the purchase of a 1000 MS, most likely used to avoid the big 1-2 year depreciation hit that Ducs seem to suffer in the U.S.
I would prefer the factory Ohlins setup on the 2005 Sport model, but used examples are hard to find and a 2003 or 2004 would be significantly cheaper.
Any thoughts on the performance of the Ohlins fork versus a modified stock fork from one of the suspension gurus (Lindemann Engineering, Traxxion Dynamics, etc.)? My guess is the Ohlins offers more adjustability to accomomodate a wider variety of riders, but the stock fork can be modified to be as good as the Ohlins for a particular rider. |
