Is there anything peculiar to Multistradas that I should be aware of when buying a used 1000DS or 1000sDS? Thanks in advance! |

A few have had 'shuddering' front brakes.
Other than that, just service history, clutch action and the usual stuff (tyres, chain/sprockets etc).
Some of the early ones had poor finish on the engine cases, the 04 had crummy sidestands, mirrors and seats (first two can be replaced under warranty).
I really haven't seen any sort of problem that a LOT of them have listed here or anywhere else. yeah, the fuel gauge is horrible, but that is just the way they are designed. |

Might as well get an '05 or '06 while you're at it. Then you get the good mirrors, side stand, screen, and seat - all of which I changed on my '04.
THEN you'll change the horn, the cans, etc. |
