Demo bike - the dealers demonstrator, the one you can take for a test ride, as opposed to the ones that you can only drool next to (not onto) in the shop.
If its ex demo then you would probably be getting last years model, be the second owner after the dealer, bike would have some miles on the clock and hopefully be at a knock down price.

The sticker on my new '06 MTS Gloss Black (not "Dark") was $8,495 before dealer fees, registration and sales tax.

$6,995 sounds good, but you need to decide if it's worth saving $1,500 to buy a bike that has been ridden 800 miles by who-knows-who, and was most likely not broken in by the book... you have NO idea if someone abused the bike, etc. Think

But, I guess $1,500 is a lot of dough... enough to buy the Zard + !

For me, I generally like to buy new. Same with books and magzines! Very Happy

Re your earlier question, I like the termi/airbox/chip upgrade quite a lot. The sound is good, it is likely the least loud of the performance exhaust upgrades (which means you can run it quietly past the cops, it doesn't ruin your ears on longer rides, but sounds like a Ducati ought to when you're in it) plus, as a Ducati Performance (DP) package, it's designed to integrate with the bike by its manufactuer...and does so extremely well. My guess is that it's picked up several horse power and foot pounds of torque, plus it runs so well - the bike is now doing what we all knew it was made to do. Also, as a DP part, there's no negative impact on the warranty.

I agree with the other sentiment, $6995 sound like a good price, but Ducati's are sensitive bikes and need to be treated well from new (and 800 miles in unknown hands = plenty of time for it to be screwed-up). Unless you couldn't afford a new one, or didn't plan to keep it long, I'd advise you to buy new.

Thanks again Activator & Cactus. Points very well made and taken.

I actually gave it some thought and think it wouldn't be a wise decision to go for the demo, would much rather buy a new or used. ('cuz an owner would never mistreat his/her bike purposely, it's their baby, rite? In love as opposed to a demo, no one really ever knows what kinda ppl have tested it) Confused

Thanks cactus for the detailed reply, but it looks and sounds as if the zard slip-on is exactly what I'm looking for.

Decision made! New (most likely) or used (w/ low miles) dark MTS 620 it is!!!

Thanks for all your help everyone! Mr. Green
