Re: need help deciding between 2 MTS100DS
Bike #2, unless you have reason to be concerned about condition and maintenance, would be my choice. It has lots of expensive and getting-harder-to-find upgrades (Termi exhaust, Ducati bags and brackets, DP handguards, which work well). It also has the tank bag, which may be useful, and, the MRA ...

Re: thinking about buying an 05 Multistrada DS
Hi Aksinah88,
I have both a MTS 620 (for the last five years) and early last year bought a MTS1100. Very similar bikes in size, feel, and weight. The 620 is 25 lb or so lighter. Big difference in power and torque though with the 1100 a very hard pulling bike from 3000 rpm while the 620 likes at ...

Re: falling for a 2005 1000ds
Hi Mentodan,
The fixed and movable cam belt tensioner bearings don't have to be replaced at every belt change. Check both bearings to make sure they roll smoothly and freely, without any binding, roughness, excessive drag, or looseness. As long as these are in good shape, no need to replace them ...

Re: Which 1000ds to buy ?!??
All things being equal I would rather have the one with lower milage, but....
The low mileage bike will have fresher suspension and if taken care of properly, barely broken in. What about things like battery and tires. If original, and they may be, will need up front replacement. Is the 3K bike ...

Re: Potential Multi owner
Don't let the "what ifs" scare you away! If the bike looks good and checks out well, and you don't find any major concerns (other the normal wear and tear items such as tires, chain, brake pads....these apply to ALL brands), I would jump on it. Try to talk to the previous owner who traded it in. The ...

Re: Potential Multi owner
Hey TAD,
Like Booney said, accessories can be bought/swapped, etc.......Spend your time finding a clean, well cared for bike that doesn't show signs of abuse or crashing and one with a clean title from an owner you feel is trustworthy.
Prices sounds really good if all checks out. It would ...

Re: Multi mirrors
If you want to see what is behind you, and, not worry about the stock mirror stem breaking just because they do, go with the FAR mirrors from MotoScience. These work soooo much better than stock. The only shortcoming I can see is that they could be a little taller/longer in the stem for a tall rider ...

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand
Hi John,
The part numbers you list match up correctly for both the Monster, for the MTS 620, and for the MTS 1000/1100.
I looked at the pictures you posted of the stand on your 620 and at the picture of the Ducati P/N 96714202B stand for the Monsters 620-1000 shown in a 2008 Ducati Accessories ...

Hi Pekka,

Hi Pekka,
Go up several posts to the one by OceanMT on 4-13-13. He has pictures of the centerstand installed on his MTS1x00. The last picture is taken with the stand down from the right side and clearly shows the stock double springs where they should be, which is on the outer side of the right leg ...

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand
Hey Gregski,
Looks like you are really close on your mounting brackets as they look very similar to the OEM cast brackets, which with all the curves they have, would be by far the trickiest part to fabricate. Might want to put a spring anchor stud on the outside of the right one so that the spring ...

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand
Hi Pekka,
Good luck for locating the centerstand assembly from the MTS 1000. They ARE hard to find.
I see two things wrong in the picture you posted.
1.) As mentioned it appears that the rubber bumper stop that contacts the centerstand stop on the exhaust seems to be missing. You could easily ...

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand
Gregski,
You are right on the money. The weldment of the centerstand would not be that difficult to fabricate, but the mounting brackets are where the challenge would be.
The stock brackets (same for 620 and 1x00) are both castings with the pivot machined in. They would be much more difficult to ...

Re: wtb 620 multistrada
I have had a MTS620 for about a year and a half now and have put almost 9000 trouble free miles (except for a low beam bulb that just burnt out) on it in that time. It is now at almost 21,000 total miles and runs perfectly with no measurable oil consumption in the 3K change intervals.
I have been ...

Re: FS: Stock mirrors
Its the entire head of the mirror itself, where it mounts to the stem, that is a bit loose on my left mirror. The little setscrew you mentioned just helps hold the mirror glass itself at the point where you adjusted it to. I do plan on buying a set of FAR mirrors as most folks say they actually work ...
