I have been lookng at the Adventure as well. Faily sure i will get one, although to replace my Tuono, not the Multi. I think the previous comments are pretty close to what i have been able to discern from the articles, great dual sport, with emphasis on non-paved roads.

Re: Falco to Multistrada...... Maybe
I have a new Tuono, as well as the Multi. I really like both bikes, but if i could only have one it would be the Multi, hands down, no question. Put 12k on the Multi (12 mo) and 4k on the Tuono (4 mo).

Re: Why a Multistrada
BB
I had a Sv 650 before the Multi.
Currently i have a Multi, an Aprilia Tuono, 748, RoadKing and a Silverwing.
Comparing the Multi to the Tuono (not sure how close that is to a capanord) is like a Audi A6 to an S4, or a BMW330 to an M3.
If you want a more comfortable sport bike, get the Tuono ...

Re: Speed Triple Vs Multistrada
I looked at the Triple very seriously before getting the multi. It is a great machine with a lot going for it. In the the end, I liked the looks and nimbleness of the multi. I recently purchased a new Tuono, which, like the triple, has lots more power. I love it also.

Re: dirty ability of the MS
The most recent Sportbike does a comparo of Multi and 3 others.
They say the Multi is quite good on dirt roads!
I would give some quotes but I just peruse the mags at the local Borders, usually don't buy them. Really nice article thoogh.

Re: Multistrada handling/performance on track?
I had thought that perhaps I could take off the exhaust heat shield, as that is what seem to scrape on the track (or leaning hard to the right). It doesn't really seem that necessary (I wear boots) ??
I decided to get a 748 for track use, so have not tried it. has anyone else thoought about this or ...

Re: Multistrada handling/performance on track?
my opinion would be that a less experienced track rider would do better on a MS than a more race orientated bike and rider. And it depends on the track, - my 916 is damn hard work to get quickly around a small track, - counter steering and so on.
However theone area that would potentially concern ...

Re: Multistrada handling/performance on track?
PeGe, I have a MS as well as a 748. i actually got the 748, primarily for track use, after I got the MS. I would rate myself as a resonably good rider, 40 years experience, lots of track time in Porsches, but new to track use on a bike (just for reference).

Re: multi vs. aprilia tuono mille
Its also very prone to wheelies, at least based on 2nd hand info.

You say that like its a BAD thing!
I sort of thought my comment would get a response :D

Re: Cost of Ownership.
The dealer where i purchased sells both the ducati and aprilia. They said the scheduled maintenance on the Tuono was higher. They quoted 6000mle service at $450 (they have a local reputation as somewhat high priced, although honest). Local shop who I will likely use is less, plus he said usually the ...

Re: multi vs. aprilia tuono mille
I looked at the Tuono briefly. Its not really comparable though. Its a naked bike with a water cooled engine. Its also very prone to wheelies, at least based on 2nd hand info. Didn't really appeal to me.
