The main issues with the MTS seem to be as follows:

Brake Shudder - Make sure when driving the bike that you stop it from varying speeds and feel for any brake shudder from the front brakes. Several MTS's have varying degrees of this problem.

1. Twisties - You will be initially concerned about the MS's ability due to it's height (and looks) though you will quickly be grinning in the twisties. The bike is true to test reports that it is a blast in any turns. Ground clearance is an issue for some "advanced” riders, it is not for most.

I recently bought my Multistrada and agree with Multiman. Given your mention of the FJ, you may want to also consider a Ducati ST3 as it will meet more touring requirements and still be considerably "younger" and more sportier than the FJ and most of all it is still a Ducati.
