If you have the cash.....then get the big one anyway

Seriously though, this is direct competition to the Multi and you can see that the whole concept is based on it.

They are making a mistake to market it as a 'real' off-road bike though as it obviously isn't (even Ducati realized that would be a mistake).

I'd have to agree with that, what were they thinking

The 620 looks too 'budget' for me to consider, for example the swing-arm (looks like it came of an old 600ss) and the front-brake reservoir (bring on the paint stripper).

For me it would have to be either a second-hand 1000 or a new 1000 S, haven't decided which yet

As far as I can tell the 05 1000 is basically the 04 with DP to fix a few of the issues (mirrors, seat, side-stand & screen). I'm not sure but I think the electronics might have also been updated for 05 to be a single unit.

The 1000 'S' model is the same but with better suspension and some carbon ...

As far as I can tell the '05 1000DS is basically the same as the 04' but with a few of the issues fixed (mirrors, sidestand) and with the comfort seat and comfort screen fitted.
