Re: Should 2009 1100s come with a red key?

You might want to check into the key with a Ducati dealer, because you just can't cut these keys because of the immobilizer.

Best to call a dealer and ask them to explain what the red key is used for and how you could get a new one if you happened to loose it.........naturally their first thought ...

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand

Looks good! :)

Just a few finishing up parts to do and then you can take it off and use it for the template to make more.

I would be guessing but I think there could be some interest here as they are hard to find!

Good job! 8)

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand

Finally had a nice enough day to put the center stand on the Duc

Even managed to get the center stand on the bike without taking off the double spring :D

Works like a charm - the pivot point makes for an effortless hoist. Now can lube the chain with ease!

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand

Seeing this is your first post you have used it to re-cover a topic most air-cool owners have had.

Your best bet if you want a center stand is to search eBay and put an "alert" so you get notified first and act quick - cause they do not last long.

Keeping a keen eye here may work to, but the last ...

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand

I managed to find this center stand late last fall and was intending to mount it right after I got back from a backroads trip in BC on BMWF650Dakar................only fate had a different plan for me.

I managed to break/dislocate my ankle/leg and spent Sept/Oct/Nov out of action. I just had the ...

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand

I have a question for those who actually used original centre stand when you put bike on the stand is it resting on the front or rear wheel ??

I know it sound doll but I couldn't find any proper picture showing the bike on the stand.

I'm working on redesigning the mounting brackets for the centre ...

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand

Pick Up a pit bull single sided rear stand. They work great and are not that much money. They work great for cleaning the chain.

They are so hard to pack for the road! :stubborn:

I welded up a "pit bull look-a-like" for home, but I like hanging it from a wench I rigged up better ...

None that I am aware of..................I am still looking for a center stand on ebay or here. No luck so far.

.............but I am getting faster at lubing the chain on the side stand......rolling it forward 6 inches at a time.

To clean the chain thou I have to lift up the back end.....which ...

Re: The oh-so-elusive MTS Center Stand

Just another observation since we got on the topic of Made in USA vs China somehow.

A few weeks ago my bike was due for its first oil change, OK no big deal, but the Service Wrench is a bit annoying and needs to be reset. So I go over to the Ducatidiag site, down load the software and search ebay ...
