Re: What should i ask the seller about a suspicous 03 1000ds?
Confirming that the original Multistrada came with three keys - one red, two black.

Re: ktm950 or multistrada
Actually, KTM 950 forgot to include something important under the 'down' section for the Austrian machine. The KTM lacks the grip of the Ducati on the road, and sure squirms around a lot on its dual-purpose tyres when you lean it over. It also has slower steering and can't carve up a corner like the ...

Re: MTS1000 vs Suz. V-Strom 650
I've got both bikes in my garage at present. The Suzuki is good, very economical (400km to each 22 litre tank!), and the seat is so plush after the Multi's. However it's also pig-ugly (colour it black to hide its hidesousness!), lacks the multi 1000's mid-range hit, and the legroom is more cramped ...

Re: 2005 1000s DS vs BMW R 1200 GS
At the risk of offending any female members, the choice is between a frumpy German fraulien, and an Italian brolly babe. The GS might have lost a lot of weight, but it's still not the well-toned athlete that the Multi is. As for previous negative comments on the Ducati's stability, how was your ...

Re: Multistrada 1000 as first Bike?
Assuming your choice is between the 620cc and 1000cc versions of the Multistrada, I would say that there is little difference for the 'newborn' rider. Even in 1000cc form, the Multi's power delivery is smooth and predictable, and the extra power and torque it lords over the 620 would only become an ...

Re: First Multistrada Test Ride...
I love the stock seat on my Multi, and I hate it with equal passion. It all depends upon the road which emotion I feel. On long-haul straight roads, I fidget and move around quite a bit due to the distress felt in my butt muscles. However anytime the road tightens, and the 'red mist' descends, I ...

Re: Question—Multistrada or ST3?
I too considered the ST3 before buying my Multi. What swayed me was the air vs liquid cooling debate. To me air-cooled engines have an elegance and visual appeal that liquid-cooled alternatives lack. Then there's the ST3's bland design. It's no 'alien sex monster from outer space', if you get my ...

Re: dirty ability of the MS
Here's some homegrown advice redweka. The Multi's wide tyres don't like our high-crowned loose gravel roads. A BMW R1200GS with a 110 tyre on a 19" front, and a 150 rear on a 17" rear, feels more stable as there's more opportunity for the tyres to 'cut' through the gravel and reach the surface ...

Re: long distance supermoto
By pampering, I mean washing after every ride, wiping away the droplets, and polishing. Bike hygiene isn't one of my strong points, but the Multi encourages me to do it. Obviously I don't ride it everyday. The rear "hugger" (sorry to use Brit bike mag terminology) I chose is DP's rear mudguard. It's ...

Re: long distance supermoto
As a moto-journo, I have just reviewed the R1200GS and found it a huge improvement over the 1150GS, particularly in terms of its lighter packaging, more accessible torque, improved suspension response, and trick new panniers.
