Mine is at 34000, commuting in all weathers.
10000 miles in the first year, less since then. No problems, except losing some engine paint, but they all do that. Just as quick now as when new.

Re: Anyone go from a Monster to Multi? (or have both?)
I recently had an S4r for a bit. Didn't like it at all. Very fast & great handling, but I didn't look forward to riding it, so it had to go.
I bought it because I regarded it as a different take on the ST4s but in reality it was just too similar and all the differences were negative ones (no ...

Sealey is ok quality. I agree with your concerns about an alloy socket, and can see no advantages in it. The weight saving hardly matters when it sits in your tookbox.

Re: Rear Wheel Nut Tool - What's Best? (UK)
I regularly buy from tooled-up.com reasonable prices & good quality kit. I can't remember exactly but I got a pair of 3/4" sockets in 41mm and 46mm and a 1/2" - 3/4" adapter for about £40. Lasting well so far at 4 years.

Re: Need Honest Opinion on a Trade
I wouldn't swap for a bike 3 years older. However the MTS is still a brilliant bike, so I'd consider getting a newer one or getting a cash adjustment on the deal.

Re: Handling of the MS comparison
I'd agree. I have the ohlins shock on my ST4s and whilst it looks great I have to be honest and say that it dioesn't really handle any better than my ST2 at street speeds.I feel they're rather pointless on a street Multi

Re: South Coast UK Dealer
Hmmm, I remember the posts about your problem. Thank fully I had the standard metal cover on, otherwise it would have come right out through a carbon cover.
The only real damage was to the cover which now has a nice burnt ring on it where teh spring carriers touched it on the inside and the ...

Avoid Alan Lear Motorcycles in Winchester.

Re: WTB: MTS front brake lever
Mines a clutch lever, best go with McDuc.
If anyone needs a clutch lever, it was £56.04, will sell for £36 plus p&p (Genuine Ducati unused)
Cheers,
Mark.

Re: WTB: MTS front brake lever
Kurt,
I think I've got a brand new one at home (can't remember whether its brake or clutch side), I'll check tonight - you can have it for 2/3 of the retail price if you want.

Leave it well alone.
If its been neglected on the outside then its been neglected on the inside too - unless he can show you receipts for services then I'd seriously doubt that they were done.
If you do go ahead and buy it allow a contingency for the cost of putting rights a few bugs with it ...

Come on mate, this is a Website for people who love their Ducatis, and in particular for people who love their Multistradas. What did you expect us to say?
Oh and by the way its quite a good bike.

Re: What other bike did you look at when you bought your Multi?
My shortlist went like this:
MTS - discounted originally as it would surely break down :(
Aprilia Tuono - footrests too high to be comfortable
MTS - really want one , but surely it won't be reliable
Triumph Speed Triple - nice but not comfortable
BMW K1200RS - great engine but too heavy

Re: high mileage '06 1000s question
Mines got 23000 miles on it, and after a couple thorough services its fitter than when I bought it at 1000 miles.
Look after it and it'll be fine
