I own an 05 "1000S" and was seriously considering trading it for a ST-3S -- until I test-rode the ST!

My opinions (I own an S, but test-drove the Showa model):
1. I was amazed by how well the Showa setup performed. With proper adjustment, it would most likely fill your needs.

PRO: Looks great, nice motor, great brakes
