I had the same problem and just replaced everything with stainless steel nuts, long bolts and washers (both stainless and rubber) from the hardware store.

+1 on the easy pull of the wet clutch on the 620, I think it makes a good urban bike partly for that reason... also wide bars, comfortable, upright riding position

...If he just had a service done on the bike a couple hundred miles ago would that have uncovered the valve guide issue?...



the valve guide issue is usually (but not always) evident at the first major service.

P.S. with the bike being over 4 years old you should check to see that the belts ...
