Re: Looking for pre-purchase opinions/advice

If you do any faster highway segments it will probably drop down below running MAP if the outside temp is lower than 60+/-F. A quick section of clear packing tape across one of the nostrils will help. We who ride in some cold have more elegant solutions than that, though. If it is going to be stop ...

Re: Looking for pre-purchase opinions/advice

Yeah I jus thought I would have a little fun with the subject!
Seriously though, on your test ride, check to make sure the tires are proper lbs and let them warm up well before allowing the bike to guide you around the corners, and see if you can block off part of the oil cooler to let the oil temp ...

Re: Looking for pre-purchase opinions/advice

The multi is lighter, more lithe, handles like fly-by-wire...
The GS is like a thick-necked German Wench resting a large keg of lager on her two opposing grotesque boobs, willing to listen to her "master"and serve a stein like a good teutonic personality-less indentured servant. Like a female ...

Re: Looking for pre-purchase opinions/advice

Jazz,
The "dash" is what you are referring to when you say Speedo, I assume. If so, that is the computer where the mileage is stored so if it was replaced there will be a difference. Some dashes were also replaced for water intrusion and fogging. That happens if the bike is washed improperly or it ...

Re: advice?

With performance and luggage accessories and such low miles, I would say between 12 and 14 thousand. However, this economy has made people let go of things for far less than they are really worth.

Re: Need Clutch Lever

I do.
I have both stock brake and clutch levers from an early 2005 Multi. used about 200 miles. I replaced them with CRGs early on.
I am in atlanta and can have them mailed out rather quickly.

Use my personal e-mail to respond so i can get it on my phone if I need to:

Re: Buying 2005 1000DS, but mech problem. Help please!

Here is another instance of a corrosive environment causing havoc with the rear brake.
Probably... your rear brake overheated and boiled the brake fluid in the caliper causing a pressure lock that subsided when it cooled enough to stop the boiling. The reason it was dragging and overheating is more ...

Re: Normal engine behavior for an MTS ??

This is what I found to be true as well; doing the throttle bodies, spark plugs(to something other than the champions) and most importantly, setting the proper valve clearence and cam timing! All things being correct, it should be fairly smooth at lower rpm's as long as you are not trying to cram ...

Re: Review of the Multi Strada - a great read

What moron wrote the article on the fastdates web site? Whoever it is needs to check his or her poetic liscense when it comes to mis-identifying a sensor for a fuel injector "on top of the cam cover, feeding fuel directly in to the combustion chamber"...some people need to stick to writing porn, and ...
