The valve guides can be fixed even after the warranty is out. My Multi still has the older style sidestand and it has not been a real issue. Make sure the ground is level if you buy one with the early stand, the early stand has a round tip on it which the newer one does not have.

Re: 2008s
If the rumored 08 multi was a new design there would have been spy shots by now if it were coming out this September. I would expect that if there was a new design that it will be seen first in October. Then released in the spring perhaps the end of February. Ducati and Moto Guzzi for that matter do ...

If you do get stuck in slow traffic the multi's clutch will get to your hands quickly if you have problems with your fingers. If you do not normally get stuck in traffic the clutch is not too bad because you only have to pull it in halfway to shift.

My first bike was a 1995 Honda Nighthawk 750 also which I still have. My second bike is a Multi 1000 which is much funner to ride. In a back to back ride the nighthawk is under damped and softly sprung. It is however much less likely to break down but has no character compared to the multi. The ...

Re: Used Mts1000=Rolling the Dice?
My multi is in the shop now for the 6000 mile service and is supposed to get the guides done at the same time. I will post as to if they cover out of warranty guides for a second owner. My servicing dealer has the service records from new but as to second owners being covered there is a question or ...

Not sure if you would think 5' 9" is short but I have owned a 1000 for 14 months. No problems with backing it out of a parking place on a slight hill. Mine has no changes from stock yet. When it goes in for its next major service tthat could change.

Re: Engine/Exhauast heat effect on rider?
You can feel the heat from the motor when completely stopped or moving under ten mph. I have never felt much heat from the pipes at any speed.
