WTB 1200 Handguard

Has anybody changed out their handguards and have an OEM left side one they want to sell? Not a broken one, I have one of those. It's for a 2013, but I don't think they'd changed them from the prior years. I don't care about the turn signal, just the plastics.

Re: 2012 MTS 1200 touring pricing?

You don't have in your profile where you're from spadefoot, but prices can vary depending on where you are. Some areas the Multi sells very well and they probably won't deal much, other areas that they may not move so well you might do better. Whether you're a repeat customer can also figure.

Re: 1200 S Touring Vs. Concours 14

Congrats and good call on the titanium, I really like that color. It looked like you've owned a succession of 4 cylinder bikes, did the Duc twin appeal to you right off the bat? I've got a buddy with a similar background of bikes to you and he just can't ride twins after all his fours.

Re: 2010 or 2011 Standard at a great price?

Glad I found this, answered a few questions I had. I'm going to do a Demo ride on a 2010 1200. They are asking 14,999. It is their Demo bike and it is a 2010. What do you think a fair price for that would be?

Gary

It would depend on what it is, a base, ABS, or S model. I doubt they're letting an ...

Re: difference between standard & touring

It's funny to me how attitudes change quickly when something like DES comes along. It's suddenly a hardship to take 10 seconds to turn a knob rather than push a button!

I don't think it's quite as simple as that. The big deal about the DES is that you can change it on the move , I can't recall ...

Re: difference between standard & touring

Thanks everyone for your views & input. "Expert" reviews are nice, but real info from owners is what I need.

Steve B, I'm especially interested in what you had to say (mostly because I'm cheap :) & you have the non-S). Not to mention this would be an easier sell to my wife if I knocked the price ...

Re: difference between standard & touring

OK, the S owners are ganging up now  After a little more than a year and 10k miles I still have no regrets whatsover of not buying an S. I had an 1100S prior, but the electronic suspension adjustment just isn't appealing to me on the 1200...especially so after the bike is out of warranty. I ...

You bet! Glad to hear you're liking the bike. I'm with you, my bike never leaves sport mode. One of the biggest attractions to me is the power and responsiveness of the motor, I don't want to muzzle it!

Re: MTS1200 or ST2/3/4

I think you have some misconceptions about the Ducatis you are and aren't interested in. Have you ridden a 2 valve air cooled Ducati? They don't have the top end horsepower of the 4 valve motors, but make plenty of low end and mid range. In fact, Ducati is probably better known for these motors than ...

Hey Steve B, thanks for the major tip! Steve S. over at Hall's told me you'd stopped on by before I called and set things up for me...you're the Man! 8) Let me know how I can treat you to a dinner!

Glad to hear things worked out for you! Just this thanks is plenty, no dinner necessary. Heck, if ...

Hall's in Springfield, IL has a red 2010 standard right now. It's marked at $13,999 but I'm told they can do better. Ask for Steve if you call, they're good guys.

Re: Clarification Between Model Years!

There have been no changes from the 2010 to 2011 model years. I understand that Ducati had a promotion for dealers to throw in bags on unsold 2010 standards. If you go for a 2010 just make sure it's had all the recall updates and it'll be the same bike as a 2011.

I sure hope that the 2010 ...

Re: Multi 1200 demo ride

Having owned two previous generation Multistradas, I was very skeptical of the direction they were taking the new bike...then I rode one and it was all over.
