Re: Multistrada In an Urban Environment

personally, stop and go is definately not a forte of ducs. The 620 (and the largers too, i think) have a very short friction zone on the clutch, don't like lower rpm's (live starts at 4K). Come to think of it, no bike likes stop and go, eh. but the the duc is particularly challenging. Once its ...

Re: Considering a MTS - concern about seat height?

Keep in mind the height of a tail bag. With a 29"inseam on a 620 !!! - I can't swing my leg over the tailbag to get on the bike.
I have to do a bizarre 'karate kick' followed by hop, hop, hump or easier - mount by stepping up on the right side peg. ( a bit hairy at first but no issue, try not to ...

Re: MTS 620 vs 600 super sport

At 80mph I'm just under 6000 rpm - 5,700 I think. I keep that in my head in order to be sure to get into 6th on the highway because its awfully smooth in 5th too.
The main problem I have at these speeds is realizing the bike is actually AT these speeds despite feeling alot slower.
Ohhhh, I ...

Re: What is a new 2006 MS620 worth?

I got mine a few months ago for 7K out the door. However, it was emphasised that it was a one month opportunity Ducati offered to dealers to clear them out. True or hype? donno. The timing and their general behavior leads me to believe them.

Do understand one thing:
If I had payed another grand ...

Generally, their prices seem high despite this bike having some performance extra's.
It's been listed for 6 months or more.

Humm, I'm not sufficiently experienced to give answers so let me ask a question... what did you like/dislike about your last bike - maybe that can guide other more experienced answers.

Re: Need Urgent Advice on First Bike (read this to know why)

The 620 is my second bike, have had it for 200 miles. Very challenging to ride well. I'm glad its my second bike, not my first, I might have gotten discouraged.
Oh, yeah, I dropped my first bike and I know its not the last.

Sure would be good to hook up once I figure out how to start the thing... :)
I should say, this is only my second bike, it is at the absolute limit of seat height for me and I'm just a bit intimidated by all that ...

Plunked down $7K for an 06 620 (red).
I'd like to thank all for being patient with my wonderment questions.
My current (and forever) bike is an 04 Triumph Bonneville. Just returned from New England, 6 days, 1400 miles, flawless. Gosh, I love that bike.

Sliders? err... nubby things?

Against the possibility of dropping the 620 I'm about the right a check for, is it possible to install those slider things to protect the body work in the event of the 0 mph 'I can't believe I just dropped the darn thing' life encounter?
what gets damaged on a 620 on a simple drop? How to protect it ...
