Re: Question about 2-up tripping

I'd agree with what has been said above regarding positives and negatives about 2-upping on these bikes. Had an ST4s before this and my wife had things she liked about each.

One thing I'd add is the benefit of the easy rear shock adjustment on the S model. When going from fully-loaded, to 2-up w/no ...

Re: Do Dealers Get Incentives?

When I heard what dealers make on most new bikes (even excluding floor plans, etc.) I was very surprised. Thought it would be more. Much more to be made from used bikes, accessories, service, etc. On the contrary to the OP, sometimes factories require dealers to take in (and pay for) inventory they ...

Re: After First Demo Ride; Not Sure

Hmmm...tough comparison. I've owned a Road King and you're really talking apples and oranges here. I assume you were not expecting a lot of similarities and that you're actually looking for the things a multi can give you which an HD can not. Concerning 2-up riding, the biggest variable is the ...

Re: I want a Multi, but....

Another point to consider is the possibility of a "GS-like" redesigned multi next year. It may be even more like what you're looking for than the current multi.

Re: Wet/dry clutch comparison

Yeah, having had a couple ducs with each, there's not too much difference (outside of noise) until you get some mile on them. The wet clutches remain quite smooth while the dry can get a bit finnicky. I don't think there's enough difference to base buying a bike on unless you're REALLY into the open ...

Re: Long distance rides

Welcome from all of us!

I've found that the ergos of the multi significantly reduce pain/fatigue on long rides, yet amazingly, the bike still retains tons of sporty character. The biggest complaints I hear are seat hardness/comfortability and wind buffeting depending upon rider height. Some people ...

Re: Monster or MTS?

I've owned/ridden many multis and monsters and you can't go wrong with either. For me, the multi inspires more confidence in corners than the monster. I can also go much longer distances on the multi, although the monster is quite comfortable. Monster is a bit easier to service, etc. if that's a ...

Re: Should I buy the MTS 1100 for my first real bike

I'm with the sv650/MTS620 folks. I'd even consider a used monster if you want to go the duc route. 1100 isn't exactly a superbike, but it's torquey and you have to buy new. If money isn't an object and you're supremely confident in your skills, the 1100 is a great machine.
