Re: Long distance rides

The stock seat feels and looks flat to me. I suspect part of the problem for some people is the reach to the bars. If you keep your back straight, bend at the hips, and lean into the bars, your butt shouldn't slide forward. But if you try to sit upright, your back arches forward and your butt is ...

Re: 07 1100S - Here's the initial deal, whatcha think?

I paid almost exactly this much for mine new in March. I would expect that used should get better discount, especially demo. Face it, in 2 weeks this will be 1 year old bike...
I would not buy unless dealer drops price another grand. Or buy '08 for this price and be sure how the bike was broken-in ...

Re: Need Urgent Advice on First Bike (read this to know why)

I have to consider is, that I might decide within a year that biking is just not for me. So with all said and done, perhaps a 2nd hand bike is not such a bad idea after all.
This is another aspect that many people do not take into account - this is the reason why you can find so many bikes with ...

Re: Need Urgent Advice on First Bike (read this to know why)

I have a friend that started riding recently, fits your description about character/temperament and safety consciousness. After 1 month on Buell Blast (his first bike) he bought ZRX1100 and dropped it in rain slick 2 weeks later. It will happen - you will drop the bike in first year or two. Happened ...

Re: mts 620 vs sv-650 (my comparison)

I have both SV and 1100s. All you've written is true, except for brakes - SV brakes have more initial bite and somewhat less stopping power, but nowhere like "night and day". There is something wrong with your friends SV.
My overwhelming feeling when I switch between bikes is that SV is my trusted ...

Re: Monster or MTS?

I had the same problems.......which one to choose, which one to choose......

so I got both. The MTS 620 for my daily commute in Athens, Greece (whenever I go there for work) and the S2R1000 for my fun bike in the isalnd of Corfu where I spend my Easter and summer holidays ...

Re: Should I buy the MTS 1100 for my first real bike

(...) and you're supremely confident in your skills, the 1100 is a great machine.
Almost evybody thinks "I'l be carefull and do not drop the bike" and then is brought back to harsh reality. Truth is, that the more powerfull bike is the greater chances of loosing control you have. For the first ...
