Just bought it and installed it. Doesn't work well with the oversize windshield I have so it is up for sale. Never used. Complete with all hardware.

$70.00 US shipped

Do you still have it?

I may need a replacement.

 Blondie,
what oversize windshield are you talking about?
The DP comfort screen or another aftermarket brand?
Please advise.
Cheers,
Steve

Sorry about the delayed response. I ended up eBaying the item.

I actually have a Laminar Lip full size screen and Laminar Lip extension. The
Zumo mount positions the unit deep in the cockpit area of the dash. This is great if you only use the Zumo touch screen for input but it makes the side buttons almost useless as they are very difficult to reach and actuate. As I use the MP3 player in the Zumo quite regularly ( and this required the side buttons ) the mount was essentially useless.

Hmmm...I use my Zumo all the time for everything including MP3's and have never touched the side buttons. I do everything I need from the touch screen. Of course maybe I am doing things the hard way or am missing out on something?

I must be missing it also, since I use the MP3 player and rarely use the side buttons.
Maybe for a quicker volume adjustment or something?
I rarely adjust the volume so I wouldn't really notice.

I would also be interested in how you are using the side buttons.
Always like to learn.

I should have been a little clearer in my previous response. You can use the screen to control all of the functionality of the Zumo but the buttons allow you to control the unit without looking at it.

The buttons are placed in such a way that all of the controls can be accessed by feel from the side of the unit. I have the unit mounted on the left side of the bars by the mirror stalk and this allows me to only have to move my hand about 6" to input commands into the unit. I can adjust volume, pause, play, forward and rewind without taking my eyes off the road. Not something that is possible with the Zumo mounted in the dash position.

Mounting the unit in the depth of the cockpit made me inputs much less intuitive and as such I did not feel as comfortable using the Zumo with the above mentioned mount. I also like having both option available for control and loosing some of the functionality by switching to the mount system was not something I was comfortable with.

I never tried using the buttons while playing MP3s, I'll have to try it.

With the Roamer mount and DP Max protection screen (or low screen) I had no problems reaching the buttons. But I can see where you have them so close it would be easier to reach (but perhaps not quite as easy to see)

I'd be interested in how you are doing it.

I just tried it, and the only thing I could make mine do it start the tune over (if in the MP3 playback area).
Of course, I didn't have it in the mount, so I recall volume being available then.
I don't want to talk about why I don't have the mount handy right now...

Once you have your play list active you need to set the unit to continuous play shuffle.

Top 2 buttons control both the volume and song forward or song back. To skip forward press the top button, to skip back press the second button.

To turn the volume up or down press the bottom button once and then press either the top button ( volume up ) or second button ( volume down ). Once the volume is set at the level you want either press the bottom button again to unlock the volume command or let the unit play for app. 10 seconds... the volume control will automatically shut off.

To start or pause the playing song press the third button.

The best way to set this up is to activate a large playlist with all of your music in it. You can shuffle through playlists and albums using the side keys as well but the button combinations are a bit of a pain. Once you have a large playlist ( or have set the unit to play all ) you can use the buttons only for all music inputs.
