Do you harbor any guilt over this loss? How about when you are out enjoying your multistrada?
I think my guilt manifested itself in a desire to own a contemporary version of the CB750 at first (to know that she was not forgotten and did not give her life for no reason!). I looked at the Triumph Bonneville, got my hopes up with the SportClassic GT... but in the end, I decided that if you're going to go new, go new. You can't perfectly replicate the charms of an old bike - so don't try, at least if you can only afford one bike.
I met with my local Credit Union Manager, was nice to her, and she gave me a 2.9% Fixed three year loan, with $8K down payment!
That covered the balance of $10K with goodies for my 1100S.

I had a similar experience through my CU, I got the lowest possible new car rate instead of the recreational vehicle rate.
