I am thinking about changing over from stock to aftermarket exhaust on my 620 multi, what ofers the best "bang for the buck". I would think they all would sound similar. Is that a correct assumption?

Various threads cover this more or less, but since you started a new one, I'll take the opportunity to re-inforce my opinion, and let someone else provide links to other pages. I'm too lazy today.
First off, your assumption is quite mistaken; they can sound VERY different. For example, Arrows are definitely more "musical" than the Termis, which I prefer for their more mechanical sound.
As for "bang for the buck," I also like to recommend the Termi "half" system, since for the price of some cans alone, among other things you get the correct ECU included, which, while some will do without, is a very pricey thing to have to add to get proper performance ("half" as in no new header or midpipe).

As I've said elsewhere, I'm extremely happy with the Leo Vince slip-ons. I run the db reducers all the time and it gives a great tone without being too loud. Without the reducers, same great tone but too loud for me to ride for any significant time. Reasonable cost too.

I also reccomend Termis especially if you bike is in warranty since the Termi racing kit does not affect the warranty!
I had about 6000 miles on my MTS 620 and now have 7300 + on it now. It is some quicker especially in the mid to upper range.
The engine runs cooler. It does use a little more gasoline. Before I was getting 47-55 mpg and now I am getting 40-50 mpg. Perhaps I am riding a little harder but not much. Has good sound. It runs flawlessly!

I am about to install the Temis silencers, ecu and air filter to mine. I have ridden another MTS with Termis and with baffles they are very civilised and without baffles they are still civilised... they are expensive, 800 quid here in the UK!!!!!
However, I like the fact that they are Italian and as said do not affect my warranty.. plus the dealer is fitting FOC for me....
I think there are better looking one on the market, the Termis are a bit bulbous...

They definitely do not sound similar.
I don't like the sound of Staintunes. Not deep enough...kind of tinny. They sound great on Monsters, but not Multis. I'm sure plenty will disagree though as a lot have them. I've heard slip-ons, with and without baffles.
I've only heard Termi slip-ons. My MTS1000 had them, and now my wife's MTS 620 does. They sound nice, but they aren't very loud. Depends how loud you want them I guess. Also, if you're dealer is a stickler on the warranty issue (and you can't find a dealer that isn't...not all are), then they are the way to go. Mine didn't have removeable baffles.
Personally I think Remus pipes sound the best. They are also a good deal. I have the full GP Race system (carbon) on my MTS1000 and they sound great. Best MTS I've ever heard. Nice and deep...and loud. I wouldn't mind them being a little quieter, but oh well...they aren't Harley straight pipe loud by any means. I had Remus slip ons on my Monster 900 and they were also great. I'm a big Remus fan.

I've been pondering this myself for a bit and today I heard a 620 with Remus slip ons that sounded bad a$$! It was loud, but not too loud.
Until then I'd been coveting the Arrow exhaust, which without baffles are ridiculously loud--they sound great, but don't know if I could ride around on those for too long.
Youtube has a good video of the arrow exhaust-- search "arrow exhaust multistrada" and you can hear a comparison of stock exhaust, vs. arrow with baffles and without--HUGE, I mean really audible BIG difference.

I love my Leo Vince cans. Great sound but not too loud with the dB killers in. Too loud for me with them out.
