The Triumph ST is supposed to be a nice bike. Can you go ride them both and decide which you like better?

Take one for a test ride. You won't believe how good they are until you take one for a spin.

Being a triumph fan and a multistrada fan my answer would be....what do you want to do with it?

The triumph is a great all around bike. You can tour on it, or carve canyons on it. Factory side bags are easy to use and work well. The engine is unique and has its own character. One you will either like or not.

Having had both, I prefer the Multi, depends what you want to do on it.
High mileage 2 up, all yr round riding, I'd go for the Trumpet. It's a very caperable bike and quick too, 120-140 mph is reached all to easily. However, it is also a little to bland for my taste, nothing beats the Multi for the fun factor.

I loved my Sprint Rs. Same bike different clothes. I used to ride the RS far faster than the multi as it had much better wind/weather protection. Great comfort and loads of speed. Engine din't spin up as quick as the 675 but it didn't half go.

If you are talking about the 955i bike it is much cheaper and well worth considering. Servicing is as expensive as Ducati. Aftermarket parts are not available (save screens) and like Ducati you only have OEM farcles.

Get the Sprint ST 955i

A bit harsh carducci!
I have ridden the Triumph, my mate has one, and the ST4(I owned one) and the VFR quite a lot..now I have a Mts.. They all have their merits; the VFR is the least exciting of them, but goes very well, just has no character; the Triumph triple is a lovely engine and does everything very well; but the Ducati stirs the soul; I think the Ducati is more of an emotional purchase as opposed to objective; although the Ducatis do everything that the others do as well...IMO..

The ST will not be nearly as comfortable as the Multi. Multi will not be as powerful. If you want similar power of a Multi and power of the ST, the Tiger 1050 would be the ticket. That is what I ended up with and enjoy it very much. The best bike I ever had.

I was coming off a VFR which was a great bike, but the comfort was not there for me. Tiger or Multi is much more comfortable and nearly as capable.

IMHO, the standard seat and set up on the ST is more comforatble than the Multistrada  . Most people have to add the DP gel seat before it gets comfortable. The wind protection better and speeds are much higher on the ST, which is why I have a MTS1000
