What a difference a few days make.Second test ride of the 1100S was like day and night.
#1. I was more relaxed
#2. Demo course was a lot better and a longer ride. Not just a big circle
#3. kept engine above 3,000 RPM
#4. Only used 1 finger on the front brake lever
The only bad news is my 4' 10" wife has a very difficult time getting on as a passenger with the side bags on. Seat too tall, legs too short. The top case back rest is too far away from the passenger seat. Ducati, or someone, should come up with a something to bridge the gap so that the passenger doesn't have to sit on the case hardware to sit up straight. Wife doubts that she'll ride with me. That eliminates the top case and rear hugger.

My wife is 5' tall.
I have a 26L Givi top box with optional backrest and it works quite well. I like the smaller topcase anyway, rather than those really big ones.
She has a little problem getting on and off, easier if she gets on/off before/after me. But that makes it pretty hard for me to get on.
So I hold the bike still and she climbs on.
The footpeg to seat distance is too far for her also- it would be best if the seat was lower but that would cut down on padding.
She had gone on pretty long rides with me- once up there does quite well.
Here is my topbox setup (well, before I crunched the bike last week)

IMADUCK/Mike,
I have copied a link from another site with some excellent advice for riding two-up and more specifically, there is information for rider and passenger alike.
I have the DP Saddlebags and Topcase and once the Topcase was installed, my wife had a hard time adjusting to the Topcase getting in the way of her feet as she climbed on, and off my Multi.
Our solution was found in the below thread. I now look for a curb or suitable substitute so my wife can get a "leg up" on the climbing aboard process. She puts her left hand on my shoulder and waits for me to acknowledge I am ready. She then puts her left boot on the passenger peg and then as smoothly as possible, climbs up and at the same time, puts her right hand on my right shoulder. At this point she is nearing the apex (sounds complicated but with a bit of practice it works very well) of her climb and then she puts her right leg between my back and the topcase and as her right foot contacts the right peg, she then lowers herself to the back seat.
My daughters, one 11 year old, and two 10 year olds (as of today, 27 Sep - yahoo) use the same method and we have had no problems. If you get the Multi, have her try it again and hopefully it will work for the both of you.
Good luck, and take care.
Joe

my wife just steps on the footrest and jumps up. Not a big deal!
She is also angry with the DP top box but she think its too close and she feels like she can´t move around on the seat with that thing on

I like that smaller top case.
My wife will not even get on the back of mine, but my girlfriend will.
Just kidding honey.
