I'm ready to buy a 1000 S, but wondering if there are any changes planned for the 2006 model? If this is already been covered, perhaps someone can pointy me to the post.

I was really hoping that they are moving to the wet clutch already in use on the 620 and the ST line?

If not, can someone tell me if there are options to make the clutch pull any easier?

Thanks,
Dale

No changes to MTS range for 06. Other than colours on the 620 that is.

I think you'll love the 2005 1000s. I've had zero problems with mine and I believe there are a couple other guys on the site who have had great success with their's as well.

As far as the clutch pull...I find it not hard at all. I always get a smooth easy pull. I think the hard pull, at least on the Multi, is over-exaggerated.

I think the only change for '06 is a price increase, but I don't remember how much. If you can find any '05 "S" models left, I'd grab it!

I have just come back from a trip to the Factory at Bologna. Amongst other things I saw a new a Multi being born. I was doing my best to spot any changes but I couldn't see any. Interestingly it was nearly all 1000 DS S Models being made & most of them U.S models. I will post a longer post about my trip with some pics from the museum when I get a chance.

On my USA spec R1, the following differences from the Euro spec were

Ugly Indicators and side reflectors, why do you have then in the USA? I removed them and had Euro spec ones added-Much nicer and smaller
The electrical loom is different, no Immobiliser, no head light flash facility, no parking light facility.
The clock shows the temp in Farenheight only.
It was heaps cheaper than the euro bike!

Are these the same thing on the USA Multistrada?

I wonder if the 06 price bump is because of the performance of the Euro over the US Dollar... I know VW is not selling the Eurovan (my other vehicle) in the US anymore because they can't sell it for a profit in the states. Just speculating.
