Hello All - 4 questions about the MTS:
1. Does the new 1000 motor have the same snatchy clutch as my 900FE?
2. Does the new motor have the same drive lash as my FE?
3. Does the rear end pound you over broken pavement like my FE?
4. Does the windscreen work better then a sportbike?

I am hoping the new MTS will rip the mountain back roads of New England like my MZ Street Moto, yet have enough civility to ride it for multi-day trips. Basically, I want a Supermoto that will tour well. I am not concerned about the vibration issues posted on this list. Both my MZ thumper and Duc 904 smoothed out after about 5k miles. Both have been stone ax reliable and only require scheduled maint, and each has over 12k on them. Anybody have any mileage on the new MTS and can comment? -Thanks

Hi Pantah,

Sorry for the sooooo late reply but I have missed your post

Anyway, here you are:

1. Clutch: the easiest ever on a Duc
2. "Drive lash" ? don't understand what you mean (my English is the problem maybe)
3. Nope
4. It does, especially the comfort screen with the spoiler.

As for the rest, I have more than 30.000km so far on my Multi and had no probs. Just do the required maintenance services and personaly I change the oil & oil filter every 3.000km.

From what you say about your riding preferences I'd say that Multi is the answer.

Hapy deciding,

No drive lash on MTS. No drive lash on new Monster 1000 with the same engine for that matter.

Thank you both. I finally rode one for awhile. Wow - It's hard to believe how much better that motor is then the old carbed 904. Much easier to use around town and in city traffic. The CLUTCH!...I wonder if that thing will go in my 904? Very smooth and light, by comparison.

Thanks again. I hope to buy one this winter. Gunna' keep the others, tho.

Cheers,
Pantah
