The 1100cc Multistrada superseded the 1000DS in 2007. There are two versions of the Multistrada with the 1100 engine: the regular 1100 and the 1100S. The main difference between the 'S' model and the regular 1100 is the suspension, which is upgraded to Öhlins on the 'S'.
