Re: New 2005 1000
I bought a new 06 model one year ago for $9995. With the economy the way it is I don't think this bike would be worth more than $8K.

Re: Buying a Multistrada....decisions....decisions....decisions.
I recently (September) paid $9999 for a new 2006 1000DS and thought it was a decent deal. If you can get an S model for that price I'd say that's a screamer. I would prefer the 06 over the 07 because it is a more mature model year, best and last year of the 1000 series. The 07's have some kinks yet ...

Re: Looked at 2004 DS today--comments?
I'm no longer a "Wanna Buy", I just pulled the trigger on a new 2006 1000 DS which I got a decent deal on (I think) at a nearby dealer. They gave me $2K off MSRP. I take delivery tomorrow, yee ha!

Buying at one dealer, servicing at another
While I would prefer to have the dealer that sells me a bike also be the dealer that services the bike, I am considering buying a bike from a dealer that is not my preferred dealer. Simply because the preferred dealer (Ducati Seattle) has no Multis to sell right now. Down the road, will I be treated ...

Re: Looked at 2004 DS today--comments?
Thanks, everyone, for the feedback. I think I'm going to sit for a week or two and see if anything else pops up on the market. Perhaps the seller will lower his price a bit. That '03 for sale is a bit rougher than what I'm looking for--thanks for the lead though.

Looked at 2004 DS today--comments?
I checked out a nice 2004 Multistrada today, only about 2000 miles. There were a couple of things I observed that I'd appreciate some feedback on.
600K service was done at a dealer and the oil cooler recall was done at that time. Not enough mileage yet to know whether the valve guides are OK or not ...

Re: Any problems to look for on early model Multi's?
The early Multi's also had narrow rear view mirrors which did not extend beyond the end of the handlebar. The narrow mirrors mainly show your elbows, the newer ones are much better.
I presume that later-model mirrors will fit an '04? Any idea what a pair would cost?
Also, are the factory panniers ...

Re: Any problems to look for on early model Multi's?
Thanks, exactly what I'm looking for. If the valve guide and centerstand recall service has not yet been done will there be any problem getting a dealer to do this work after the bike changes owners?

Any problems to look for on early model Multi's?
I am looking for a used Multistrada and have come across several nice 2004 models with very low miles. Is there anything mechanical I should be wary of with this model year? Any recalls to be aware of? Anything I should have checked by a technician before purchasing?
Thanks!
Thanks!
