Re: Multistrada In an Urban Environment

I was just thinking about this yesterday while riding home. I work in Seattle and with our warm/dry summer I have been riding my MTS a lot to work - even though I don't buy bikes to commute on (I just got sick and tired of riding the bus).

Yesterday, because I went to VME, I had about twice as many ...

Re: loking for RED right side fairing pieces + instrument mount

I believe I have a right side cover with an ouchie on it (a couple of scratches about an inch long) - it is still on the bike. I have a spare new one that came with the bike that I have not put on because I was saving it for when the bike wears out, but I suppose I could swap them out. now instead

Re: I am looking at a 2007 1100s multistrada

Wow, $1100 for the 6k service, that seems rediculously high! two sparkplugs, a scan on the computer, an oil change, air filters. even with the clutch it still seems very high. what else did they do? did you get a reach around with that.LOL. This is why I am inquiring about the bikes, I do not wish ...

Re: I am looking at a 2007 1100s multistrada

Thank you for the reply. Yes, from what I understand the maintanace costs have been reduced, and intervals lengthened. which appeals to me. Tell me what your maintenance costs, intervals are? And what is the biggest reason you bought a ducati? My first and only service so far was the 6K service (I ...

Re: I am looking at a 2007 1100s multistrada

Not that many people here own the new 2007 yet, and those that do probably haven't put that many miles on them. However, I feel confident in saying (without having ridden or even seen one) that they aren't that different from the previous year models, except that they have a few improvements that ...

Re: New ducatist ... or not?

I don't have many miles on mine (about 8K), but it is 2 years old and I haven't had any problems with it.

The cost of the regular scheduled maintenance was a little surprising, but I guess that is to be expected.

I don't think the model or the engine is fragile, but the cost per mile is going to ...

Re: SV650S to MTS620 - Hey! Hey!

Ride them both/all (including the MTS 1000), look them over, then buy the one that speaks to your soul.

I would bet even money on the Ducati.

I have a co-worker that has the SV-650 as his first bike, and for the money it is a good bike, but the components and technology doesn't compare to the ...

Re: Offroad?

I've ridden some pretty hairy places with my GS, and I still don't care for it off-road or even just off-pavement. It is, and always will be, a too heavy street bike with an inch or two more travel. Ditto for the Oilhead GSes, although they are getting better. The best one liter "dual sport ...

Re: Pannier Sizes

Give me the dimensions of your laptop and I will try it. I have 4 laptops of various sizes from really small to a good sized Dell that I can try. I can also take some measurements.

If you have a compact laptop (like a 12 or 13 inch PowerBook) it will probably fit if in a small case, but a large 15 ...

It's not inexpensive, but whether it is expensive depends on your means and what you are used to paying.

Re: 748S owner considering MS or ST3s

Second: New MS that had it's first 1000 km so I was allowed to pull open the throttle. I was satisfied with the engine but felt that the front of the bike was too light and the rear of the bike didn't feel like driving on rails as I'm used from a Duc in high speed or bad road turns.
Is ...

Re: Should I switch from the ST2?

As for starting - I think a properly running MTS will start almost everytime you touch the button - no throttle manipulation required until it is running, and then only to keep it running if it is cold. I've never had problems in that regard.

As for two up - I don't know as I haven't tried that yet ...

Re: Ducati Purchase 101

Eastside Motorsports!!! I forgot all about that place. If they're open tomorrow I'm heading down to check out what they've got. I don't think any of the shops are open tomorrow - usually closed on Monday, but especially tomorrow.

Eastside is where I bought mine, but I am of mixed opinions as to ...
