Re: 1200 S Touring Vs. Concours 14

Zen-

so true. I have friends in the Asheville area-I take an 8 hour route through the Kentucky back roads to get there, then am fresh to tackle NC mountains the next day. Try that on a sportbike (at least if you're over 30 :x )

Enjoy the ride.

Re: Need advice

Bob-

you're welcome. I am using an MRA Vario which helps, but there is stil a roar. I wish I had 3 hands so I could make small adjustments while riding- makes me miss the electric screen from my RT. I think there is probably a quirt(er) zone, but small adjustments will push you out of it. The MRA ...

Re: Need advice

Bob-

there are several threads on this on ducati.ms

http://www.ducati.ms/forums/44-multistrada/111001-wind-noise-screen.html

I'm finding more noise than I'd like on my 1200, though completely tolerable with earplugs. I think the problem is the small size of the screen at the top, which generates ...

Re: 1000 dry clutch vs 11000 wet clutch

For the type of riding you describe, the clutch type will be a non-issue. The wet clutch is a bit better in stop-and-go situations. On the open road, both will be fine.

If you do go for a 1000, I would stronly suggest going to the 14 tooth front sprocket. This improves the low-end torque and ...

Re: Handling of the MS comparison

Yes Dr.Dave that was the feeling I got as well. much more percise. So One could deal quite well with a showa front end and some premium in hte rear?

J

I had my Showas re-worked- turns out that the Race-Tech springs and valves for the Monster fit, It made the front a bit more plush on the small ...

Re: Handling of the MS comparison

I have a 2004 1000DS Multi with an Ohlins rear and race-tech reworked showas, lowered 1 inch. I alos own an R1200RT and previously rode an R1100S, both with full Ohlins. As several other folks have said, the Multi "feels" more precise than the the telelever bikes, but in actuality tthey steer just ...

Re: 2004 Multistrada Question?

I'm in Cincinnnati- whre in Ohio are you?

I came from an 1100S to a Multi- both excellent bikes, but the Multi puts a grin on my face like nothing else I've ever ridden!

The changes from 2004 to 2005 and 2006 are minimal- mainly a better seat, sidestand, and mirrors. The sidestand should be a free ...
