Re: Multistrada In an Urban Environment

90% of my riding is inner-city Toronto riding, and I love it. Quite possibly I would love it with most bikes, but I love the Multi's riding height which allows me to see over cars in front of me and to see pedestrians potentially stepping off the curb.

It's also narrow and thus brilliant at ...

Re: Advice for Second bike

I use my 1000 for city driving in Washington DC, but I split lanes, ride on sidewalks and generally ride like the cops are chasing me and I have $5,000 worth of crack in my backpack.

It works for me.

+1!!!

And BTW, I just turned 30 and have been riding 3.5 years now. I started out with a 1979 ...

Re: pillion comfort

Just returned from a 2000 mile trip, and the only complaint my wife had about the seat (stock 05), was that a backrest would be nice. There is a list member (Habanero?) that makes a tidy one for the Multi. She's about 5'-4", maybe 125lbs dripping wet, to give a point of reference. And we stopped ...

Re: 06 vs 07 and other questions...

Congrats Skeandhu!

I spent about 9 times more money to buy my '06 1000S than I ever had before in my life, so I can appreciate the Kraft Dinner comments... now, I'm slowly slowly slowly saving up for some nice farkles.

Did you buy from someplace in town?

Re: Considering A Multi

Ran across this site the other day. I've read a few posts here and there and it looks like a great site and a good place place for some information and feedback. I have been riding bikes for 36 years although the last number of years found myself too busy to ride. I sold my beloved Z1-R a few years ...

Re: Financing question

.. and the CB blew itself up so I had no real choice.

you didn't notice any signs of depression or anything before it came to this?

Do you harbor any guilt over this loss? How about when you are out enjoying your multistrada?

I think my guilt manifested itself in a desire to own a ...

Re: Financing question

Old CB750's are cool bikes!! I've chased down many old bikes just to drool over them without knowing the person riding IT wants to talk about the Duc!!!

Yeh, they rock. I had a '79 CB750K as my first bike before 'graduating' to the Multi, and I still miss some things about the CB. But in ...

Re: do u like the idea of a wet clutch on the 1100 ????

I would like the third choice:
Doesn't make much difference.

It certainly wouldn't stop me from buying the bike.
I have had good luck with the dry clutches, although the stock baskets/plates seem to have too short of a life. The ProCutting basket/ clutch kit makes it much better and lasts a lot ...

Re: Does the MTS need an upgrade to it's off road capabilities?

I can't say I disagree, although from my little hardpack dirt- and off-road experience the Multi's done perfectly well. And I don't know how much importance you place on long-distance road comfort either, but perhaps the Hypermotard will be more suited to your needs...?

Truely fugly.

Yeah, that's saying it all.

I guess it's illustrative that there are so few miles on it. I'm not sure anybody who actually intended to ride the thing would spend that much money on flash without getting the full Ohlins setup. Maybe ...

Re: Passenger touring

We just came back from a holiday in Italy which is roughly 1400 kms from our home. It was the first real big trip with luggage and all (check my pictures of the fully loaded multi in the travelling section, it is the black beuaty with the black and red bags).

I noticed those pics awhile back ...
