Re: Riding position

ok. So you feel the RT and the Multistrada are almost identical in seating position. Perfect, thank you. That was my impression too. I've sat in both though driven neither. While I love many of the features on the RT, the lightweight of the Multi is very atractive.

They are similar but the RT is ...

Re: Conundrum: Should I swap VFR750 for MTS???

I have a '96 VFR 750 in addition to my Multistrada 1100S. Before I got the Multi, the VFR was my day ride bike and I had a BMW for commuting and touring. Now that I have the Multi, I hardly ever ride the VFR anymore.

There are a few things I prefer about the VFR: the sound and feel of the V4, the ...

Re: About to purchase

That's the normal position for the forks.

I'm surprised about the weight on your hands & wrists. The riding position is pretty upright. Perhaps you have short arms for your height?

There are a lot of aftermarket bars available, so if you feel the riding position is off by a little bit, it will be ...

Re: S vs non-S?

You will definitely notice the difference, not just in plushness but also stability in bumpy corners and steering feel. But the Showa suspension is not likely to be a limiting factor on the street, perhaps that is what the dealers meant.

Re: Multistrada Lugage and passenger question

According to my wife, there are no issues with the panniers & pegs once she is on the bike. But mounting & dismounting can be a little tricky because the front of the pannier overhangs the peg.

We've only taken one long trip of 9 days since I got the Multi, and it was fine for a trip of that ...

Re: Long distance rides

Bob,

The Laminar touring windscreen gets the air completely above your helmet with no buffeting? I'm the same height as you with a pants inseam of 32". Do you think the screen would work for me?

You'll just have to try it. I'm 5'10" (on a good day) with 32" inseam and the Laminar with Lip is not ...

Re: 07 1100S - Here's the initial deal, whatcha think?

$12875 + tax for a demo? I'd say no, thanks and get a new one somewhere else. That's only $1120 off MSRP. It's not enough discount for a demo IMO, especially in the slower part of the year. And of course the price includes the first service, since the service has already been done, and it's only ...

Re: 2 up touring, noob question.

I can tell you, for touring the Multi is as good as an FJR, concerning comfort and highway use, it is much better on twisty roads.

For me it is the ideal bike, fast and sportbike teasing when i ride it alone and a very comforteble ride two up for long distances.

Wim,

You've got it right. The ...

Re: 2 up touring, noob question.

K1100LT or K1200LT? No way will it be as comfortable as a K1200LT. Compared to a K1100LT, you might be able to get close.

I just got my Multi this year and I've been working with my wife to make it comfortable enough for a 9 day trip to Newfoundland we're planning next month. Her chief complaint ...
