Re: anyone interested in trading a Multi for a 2006 ST3s ABS?
Mark,
How is that ST3 and why do you want to switch?
Phil
I seriously considered an ST3 before I got the Multi. Nice riding bike but you have more of a forward and down riding position. And you don't have the cool underseat pipes and a shitload more bodywork should you drop it.

Re: Want a MTS 620 or 1000, but am scared of the maintenance $$$
Take the 20K mi service for example. The biggest $$$ is replacing the air filter and the fuel filter. Why? Because it takes shop time to remove the tank. However anyone can do this - seriously even if you aren't that inclined it's a simple matter of following very simple directions. Tackle that ...

Re: Looked at 2004 DS today--comments?
There is an "ouch" on the right rear panel where it brushed against a wall. Several deep but short scratches. Can this be repaired without buying a new panel? For $250 or less?
Regarding your "ouch" Don't worry about it for at least a year because you will drop it again. Guaranteed. I've been ...

Shouldn't be, no.stickerbush wrote:Thanks, exactly what I'm looking for. If the valve guide and centerstand recall service has not yet been done will there be any problem getting a dealer to do this work after the bike changes owners?
Some 04s also had an oil cooler recall (lines and the cooler itself).

Re: Exhaust Smell..............
Thanks for the replys guys - I'm talking about the same smell like you were sitting directly behind the exhaust of a bike, and it was beating you in the riding gear. Not just a general "bike smell". From the above comments I'll take it as a "NO!"
Definitely a No for the rider. Plenty of people ...

Some '04 Multistradas also had an issue with the oil cooler lines leaking - another Ducati recall/replacement covered even outside of warranty.

Re: Advice for Second bike
I use my 1000 for city driving in Washington DC, but I split lanes, ride on sidewalks and generally ride like the cops are chasing me and I have $5,000 worth of crack in my backpack.
It works for me.

Re: Monster or MTS?
I've never been all that comfortable riding a Monster. I'm average height, 5' 10", but always felt cramped on one. I love their look and concept though. A Monster is more of a short hop bike than the MTS. The MTS is much quicker turning than a Monster IMO, and more versatile.
Agreed. At 6'2" I ...

Re: Noob questions <------ here.
Is this process like buying a car?
Do I test drive it?
Can I haggle with the salesperson?
Do I try to find an '06 620?
I'm 5'10 205lbs and a bit out of shape.
Being new, will I even notice the difference between the standards and S models?
Thanks for your help in advance. I will be buying a ...
