I went to the dealer and looked at a 2007 1100 Red MTS. Though it wasn't the "S" model, it had 2 miles on it and he marked it down to $10,999, which I thought was a great deal. When it came to the "S" model, the salesman said that yes, the Ohlins are great, but if I don't plan on doing any track days or racing, then it's not absolutely necessary. I didn't pull the trigger because I have yet to ride any MTS's. I couldn't ride today because of the snow we got last night. Do you think the price is a good price? They were going to waive freight, and store it for me for the winter. I really wanted to go with it, but since I haven't demo'd one yet, I didn't want to take the chance. Did I just blow a great opportunity?

You didn't blow anything. That bike will still be waiting for you. Give them a few days(weeks) and they may do even better. That's only $1000 off unless they are willing to throw in TT+L. I never rode the non S model to compare because, for me, it was love at first sight when I saw the Black S model. I asked if I should consider the non S and most replies were get the S if the deal is good. I'm happy I did. The suspension is the best I've ridden. I can tell what it is doing and what needs adjusted. Everything seems to make sense. Do I do track days? Only 1 in 16 years of licensed riding. Do I think the suspension is worth it for the normal commuting I do? Absolutely. It's really up to how much do you want to spend. I'm pretty darn sure the non S is a great bike too and you're saving that much for other goodies if the suspension and CF isn't your bag of tea.
