There has been an '07 1100 MTS sitting at a dealer all summer. He recentley dropped the price to $12,995 CDN (Current US exchange rate of $1 CDN=$0.945 US BTW). What do you think I can reasonably offer him? No matter what he says, I'm going to ask for the panniers and top case to be included

If so, you would have a great deal @$12,000 out the door with bags & rack with topcase.

If it is an S model, just buying it straight up w/out bags at his asking price would also be a great deal.

I am looking at buying a Multi, and I found the same deal as you did 07 MTS 1100 (not the s) at $13,000, it is a demo (1,000 km) and will get the 2 years waranty on it.

Do you think it is still a good deal? Were you able to get the bags, if not what is the list price for the side bags (the hard one)

Are you happy with the non s version?

I am actually debating on buying it vs an 08 MTS 1100s, but it is not cheap at $17,000. I read so much about the Ohlin supension that it make me wonder of I won't regret it. Also the 07 id red and I would like to have it black.

I purchased a NEW 07 S (0 miles) on 12/26/07 and the starting sale price the dealer advertised was $2500 off MSRP in Tampa - $11500.

I added sidebags and centerstand; but paid for them $13,000 TOTAL.

I just finished a 6000 mile trip to San Diego and back!

For reference (to my Northern brethren), I paid ~ $11,500CDN for an '06 "Demo" 1000S in Apr '07. 8000km on the clock. No troubles to speak of as yet (knock on wood.)

Of note, it had been dropped on one side, but fully repaired. Full 2yr warranty from the day I drove out of the shop.

Figure side bags are ~$1000CDN, plus tax.

$13,000 for a demo (non-S) seems steep...

Tampa Eurocycles has a VERY interesting sale gimic at the end of the year - they call it a "GAMBLER's" Sale for a reason. The last week in November they start knocking $500 a week off MSRP for their inventory of current year models until the last week in December. If you gamble that the price will drop more next week they may sell your bike!

The last week in December they had both - 1 07 MTS and 1 07 MTS (S), so I had my choice with $2500 off MSRP. Since 07's and 08's have the same MSRP I would think dealers would HAVE to discount the 07's to get rid of them.

The Multisterada performed flawlessly; it is a great sport-tourer.

If you haven't purchased yet, here's my .02 worth. The Ohlins is flat-out unbelievable in performance. IMO it totally justifies the higher price over the standard. This is my 3rd Duc and probably my 100th bike overall and certainly my favorite by far. Every day I'm more impressed with the Ohlins on my S model and am so glad I waited for it and didn't just jump on the first standard I found. Not to knock the standards though. I'm sure that if you take the time to dial in the suspension for your weight and riding style you'll be very happy.

I ended up getting a 2007 1100 red for $12,000 CDN in Sept. It was a display model.

If I wanted the 'S' version, I would have been waiting a while and it would have cost $17,000 which I just couldn't afford.

JJW, thanks for your info, it might be usefull if I choose to go for the 2007 non S version.

mxwinky, your .02 cents might cost me 3-4k when I read comments comming from some one that is experienced it is bringing me each time much closer to the S. Since I am planning on keeping the bike for many years, I might bite the bullet a go for it.

But I still have time to decide since I won't be able to ride before many weeks, it is freezing out here.

This is my first Ducati and I wasn't sure about the xtra $ for the Ohlins. After I owned it a week, I knew I would never regret the extra it cost to go for the S model. The suspension is truly amazing. I got a good deal as well. Close to the Tampa deal, but not quite as much off. They still have a brand new Black S sitting there with bags on it too. I don't think you'll be disappointed in the non S by any means, but I think down the road you'll never think "should I have gotten the S?" It might be worth your time to shop around a bit.
