Been dribbling at the Multistrada had a Ducati ST2 in the past, hated it, but now ride a Blackbird and Triumph Sprint RS, i`m attracted by its uniqueness and light weight and its a more butch looking version of my partner Julies BMW F650CS which is a blast to ride, so heres the crunch with all your collective knowledge tell me why I should buy one!

Stay away from the Multistrada. Eventhough it might feel & drive differently, it is a 2V Ducati too...dangermouse wrote: had a Ducati ST2 in the past, hated it

Clockwork nailed it... I can't wipe the SE Grin off my face for hours after I get off the bike.
Really, it's very simple. And, no, it's not any version of a Beamer. It's a whole new beast. I test rode them nearly back to back. And I went from satisfied, but calm (F650GSDA) to madman looking for a turn (MTS).
If there's any problem with my bike, it's that I have to be careful not to do something stupid, squidlike, or too hooligan
. It's just that fun.

It makes you want to ride...
It makes you want to ride faster than you should.
It makes you spend more time on this forum than you should.
Multistrada's are evil.

Thanks for your honesty, may i say first that i hated the ST2 for its ergonomics (my backs knackered and it crippled me) and its low speed grabbiness around town, now i don`t know if the twin sparking has cured this ( no doubt you`ll tell me ) i`m hopeing so! but still smitten so you haven`t put me off, love the forum`s very helpful, and can anyone tell me how to stop browsing for carbon bits for the MTS when i haven`t got one? (750.00 GBP = 1,091.38 EUR) just to get used...
and it's about the same ammount to the rest of europe
as concern the multi, i have to advise you this:
if you expect a motorcycle that give you GREAT FUN, you got the spirit!
if you think that will fit you from the begining... MAY THE SPIRITS HELP YOU!
with my level of economics, i imagine that (she) fit me after two years!
Greatings from the land of the rising wheel!
(front, back and again...)

I have an ST2- I like it a lot. But for the riding I do now I felt the MTS would be a lot better. So I bought a 2005 'S'.
So far I much prefer it. The ST is better for high speed stuff, but I find I prefer the tighter backroads anyway.
The MTS is WAY better around town and at lower speeds. I don't have any problems at 20mph putting around and it is totally stock. Sitting upright (especially with a passenger) is way more comfortable for me than the lean with the ST- and I had 1" bar risers.
If I was going faster, or mostly higher speed highway I would have kept the ST.
It is for sale now (since I can't afford this many bikes).
