Is "List" price pretty much standard for these? I'm looking at one at my semi-local Ducati dealership, and they seem to be quoting list price for everything (bike, accessories, etc). I'd like to have some leverage for a better price, but not sure what's the norm.

Generally yes, but you should be able to get a little off due to the 2013s coming in. Another choice, which is what I did, is take their demo off their hands. Saved me 3k.

I bought my 03 in November 2003 and I believe this was about the time the 04s began showing up. Ducati had zero percent financing for the 03s. The dealer gave me at least 10% off on all the accessories and labor for any installation. Right now you can get low financing or a $1,200 in store credit.

This offer is from Ducati c/o the Moto Forza website:

"2012 Multistrada 1200 S Touring: 0.99% APR Financing for 60 Months or $1,200 In-store Credit towards the purchase of Ducati apparel or Ducati performance accessories when you purchase any new 2012 Multistrada 1200 S Touring model."

You don't have in your profile where you're from spadefoot, but prices can vary depending on where you are. Some areas the Multi sells very well and they probably won't deal much, other areas that they may not move so well you might do better. Whether you're a repeat customer can also figure.

I'm NC. I stopped by the other (semi-)local Ducati dealer, he had a couple of Multistrada ST's in stock, as well, and offered to let me take his demo bike out for an overnight test ride, if I wanted. I think I'm going to go back out there after Christmas and take him up on it.

I stopped by Ducati of Raleigh (the same folks that own BMW Motorad in Raleigh, NC) on Saturday, and took a 2012 ST for a test ride. This may be old hat to everyone else here, but that was the most amazing ride of my life.
I started it out in Urban, to give myself time to get used to the bike, but switched to Touring after a bit. It was astonishing. I can't imagine asking more from a motorcycle.
