Hi all.

Anybody have one of these? Mine just plain fell off I guess. I did make an adjustment to it when I swapped levers, but the main body of the assy remains, and I probably should have put some blue Loc-Tite on . . .

If you have one, let me know and we can make fair arrangements.

Thanks.

I replaced mine with a brembo hydraulic unit. Far cheaper, a lot more reliable and a lot more robust. Works a treat cost me about £10 english pounds :D

Throw it away!
I removed my sidestand switch yesterday - one of the first things I do with new (to me) bikes. This is one of the main reasons a bike will leave you stranded on the side of the road when the sidestand switch fails. If you wire together the two wires to the sidestand switch, you won't need a new clutch microswitch.

One of my first ever memories of motorcycles is when my brothers best friend died from hitting a car after he forgot to put his stand up,

Yes the clutch one, at base of hand lever.

If anyone has a lever assy in good shape WITH the microswitch, I'll take that!

Thanks all.

Thinking about this a bit more, i know that i replaced the brakelight microswitch with a hydraulic type but ther should be no reason why it wouldnt work on the clutch side either. Google brembo hydraulic switch and it should bring up some suitable shops selling them close to you, They are essentially a replacement for the banjo bolt with an electrical contact. Do a search and you will see what i mean. They tend to be used on enduro / motocross a lot as they are more robust and are easy to fit but you will have to bleed the master cylinder to get any air bubbles out to get the pressure back up. Not a big job.

Hi Ian, I appreciate your thoughts. I can only speak from personal experience, but checking the sidestand is part of my checklist when riding off and I've never ridden off with a sidestand down. With the Multi, the sidestand is very far forward and visible.
